Manufacturing Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Manager to oversee and optimize our manufacturing operations. This key leadership role will ensure production schedules are met, inventory levels are maintained, and the assembly operations run efficiently. The position involves managing electro-mechanical assembly processes, mechanical assembly, and welding. The Manufacturing Manager will also take a strategic role in streamlining vendor relationships to enhance production efficiency and inventory control. Production at this location is expected to double over the next 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure timely execution of schedules.
- Coordinate the assembly of the equipment.
- Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to allocate resources and optimize production flow.
Inventory and Vendor Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Partner with procurement to consolidate vendors, streamline supply chains, and improve inventory control.
- Implement best practices in material tracking and usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance and leadership to the Production Supervisor and assembly team.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals, identify bottlenecks, and improve team performance.
Process Optimization:
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to reduce lead times and costs.
- Leverage lean manufacturing principles to enhance production efficiency.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and adhere to customer specifications.
- Implement quality control measures and promptly address any production issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to align production with company goals.
- Provide input on product design for manufacturability and ease of assembly.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be highly considered.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or plant management, ideally with a background in equipment assembly.
- Experience in vendor management and supply chain optimization.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in control panel assembly, mechanical assembly, or welding operations.
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems and electrical integration processes.
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
